Are You In A Cult? – Self-Released

Deliciously wicked duo Dead Posey are more than the music. They are a four-legged creative force visually and sonically, with a shared vision, passion and workload. Sure, Danyell Souza and Tony Nova are individuals, but when it comes to their band which has finally – finally – released its debut album, their input on every aspect is equal. It’s important yer girl says this. Because in a sec she’s gonna focus on Danyell’s vocals. But in the grand scheme of all aspects of ‘Are You In A Cult?’ they are only a small part of the story. Right, so, this much-anticipated release starts with the fuzzy guitarin’ feral vocalin’ ‘Zombies’ which will get your heart beating and the blood pumping through your veins faster than if you were actually running from the bloody things. ‘Welcome To The Nightmare’ is a cleverly worded critique of America snarled by Danyell’s low and lazy vampiric vox. Absolute belter, better than the original cover of New Order’s ‘Blue Monday’ is sung with relish, and musically sounds like Rob Zombie walked into New Order’s studio and declared, ‘It’s alright lads – I’ll take it from here.’. ‘Are You In A Cult?’ has aspects of Hole, Nirvana, NIN and The Pretty Reckless. These bands are massive. And you know what? This is exactly what ‘Are You In A Cult?’ is gonna make Dead Posey become. Fast.
