Slamming shut the ‘Opvs Noir’ trilogy, Lord of the Lost find their form yet again. Described by those who know what they’re on about as, ‘The most out of the box of the three’, this final chapter of the trilogy is rich with high end collaborations, atmospheric vs abrasive vocals and wide, varied ideas – all of which are explored. Pumping dark disco banger ‘I Hate People’ (feat Wednesday 13), with its crazy catchy chorus and even more accurate lyrics throws in another twist to sthe tale. Cats in Space add lush textures and vocal dynamite, making ‘Take Me Far Away’ an operatic fantasia. ‘I’m a Diamond’ (with Saltatio Mortis) is a self-love stunner, followed by eerie electro soaring fuck the haters attitude, alt slammer ‘My Funeral’. Friends, the song’s chorus is a joy. This record is the grandest of grand finales, and on the strength of ‘Opvs Noir Vol. 3’ Lord of the Lost could release a ‘Vol. 100’ and we’d still be down with it.
