Live Review: Kim Dracula and Violent Vira, Electric Ballroom, Camden

On a packed night at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, Kim Dracula delivered a show that came across less like a standard gig and more like a somewhat unhinged theatrical event in the best way possible.

Ahead of the anticipated Kim Dracula madness, support act Violent Vira warmed things up with a set that was genuinely refreshing. Her sound brought a darker, moodier energy that contrasted nicely with what was to come later in the night. There’s something exciting about observing an artist who seems completely comfortable in their own lane, and Vira has that confidence in spades. The crowd might not have known every word yet, but by the end of the set, she’d definitely won them over.

From the instant they stepped on stage, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a standstill and sing kind of evening. Kim Dracula has a gift for performance; every song came with a strong measure of drama, weirdness, and just enough chaos to keep the crowd completely hooked.

What really stood out while watching this incredible show was the real connection with the audience. Between the theatrics, the costume changes, and changes in style, Kim masterfully kept the room feeling like everyone was in on the joke. There’s a playful confidence to his whole act, and it works. The crowd responded in kind, was insanely loud and fully engaged, clearly enjoying every unusual twist the set threw at them.

Together, the lineup made for a night that appeared energetic without ever tipping into chaos. Violent Vira set the mood with something fresh and atmospheric, and Kim Dracula turned that energy into a full-scale spectacle. Not every live show manages to be both musically solid and genuinely entertaining to watch, but this one pulled it off.

To summarise, this show was theatrical, weird, loud, and a lot of fun! Exactly what you’d hope and expect from a Kim Dracula show.
