Review: Bloodywood – Nu Delhi

Bloodywood

Nu Delhi

Fearless Records

It’s one thing to combine metal with traditional music from your home nation of India. Bloodywood do that very well. Here they’ve taken things much further by bringing in other parts of the music spectrum much more too. The result is ground breaking splendour! It’s like this wonderfully talented group have hoovered up a universe worth of sound and formed it using heavy industry into sonic pleasure. That ancestral vibe still runs through every fibre with beats hitting harder than ever. We get punchy raps fused with vista like synth, sound manipulation and soulful moments. It’s like the band went on a voyage of discovery and returned laden down with treasures. You get a nod towards Linkin Park on ‘Hutt’ along with an appearance by all the rage Babymetal on ‘Bekhauf’. Vocals range from gently caressing to guttural violence. As a whole this deserves the much used label, epic. Bloodywood – Bloody Hell – Bloody good!
