Reflections In Sound – Self-Released

Musically, Wales is a country that punches well above its weight. Having produced an array of world renowned artists it must be daunting for any new band to follow in such esteemed footsteps, but Edit The Tide are well up for the challenge. Since bursting out of Bridgend in 2023, this quintet have conquered their native land with a hard, yet melodic, sound and seem set to captivate the rest of the UK with their debut EP Reflections In Sound. Featuring five tracks that radiate fluoresce and display different facets of their DNA, this release makes the perfect calling card and should find them snapped up by a major label. From atmospheric opener ‘Ambience’ to urgent closer ‘The Moment’ Reflections is awash with neat ideas; unusual drum patterns are paired with progressive song structures while the vocal harmonies and guitar lines are often estranged and run counter to each other. However, the band’s genius lies in taking this invention and delivering a fistful of perfect hard rock songs that are sure to be well-received whether blasting from the radio, or the stage at a rowdy gig. Today Bridgend, tomorrow the world.
