3Teeth
EndEx – Century Media
Industrial music has always been thought of as future sounding but of late has lacked real innovation. Enter 3Teeth with their new album EndEx which picks up the baton and runs with it on pounding cyber feet. Heavy on mood and atmosphere this is a more organic outing than earlier work, a hybrid of the mechanical beats and soft tissue rhythms. There’s plenty of menace through tempo drops and some near prog treatment of arrangements. The vocals vary enormously emphasising the theme of each song rather than keeping the whole thing tightly restrained. That means plenty enough diversity to keep you listening. The grand finale of Tears For Fears ‘Every Body Wants To rule The World’ gets a beautifully sympathetic and starkly relevant makeover. EndEx isn’t fully of club bangers, it’s much more far reaching than that. This is an album that will endure, it’s built to last, not blast. And it’s taking industrial music into welcome new territory.
