The Murderous Memorandom (illustrated and written by David King) is an A to Z guide to murdering your parents, complete with 26 illustrated steps.
We are introduced to the book with a deliciously macabre poem, both intelligent and playful.
Each letter is accompanied with a dark rhyme and striking graphics. Keeping the book devoid of colour really puts emphasis on the use of white eyes for the children; giving them life (and even souls) that the grown-up themselves do not (and no longer) possess.
The book is intended for adults and teens but its dark humorous take on punishing abusive adults may please the hurt child within. I feel the illustrations could be larger so we can really appreciate all the wonderful details including in the artwork. As a mother of a 3 year old, I am always singing about our ABC’s.
This ABC I will be enjoying without the company of a child!
