Damn The Light – APF Records

Bringing doom, horror, punk, a touch of glam and a lot of rock, with basslines that’ll rattle you into 3021 let alone 2021, Possessor have dropped ‘Damn The Light’ straight from their delightfully hellish home into our much less appealing one. Hands up who’s been forced to let their hair grow long(er) this year? Prepare to put it to good use and swing it around like never before to ‘Fresh Hell’. ‘Bloodsuckers’ is a massive opener. The spikey riffs of ‘The Strangeness’ rev along at pace, as do those of ‘Razorback’, which includes a clattering rhythm and another shout along for all to enjoy – Possessor have a habit of yelling their song names as a chorus. The vampiric vibes of the title track are set against super sludgy tones. Definitely let Possessor into your home in musical form. Definitely don’t let them near your power tools, however…
