Alive In Melbourne (Live) – Napalm Records

How Ukrainian wrecking balls Jinjer left the city of Melbourne standing after this loud, proud, epic performance is anyone’s guess. From first track ‘Teacher, Teacher!’ all the way through to closer ‘Captain Clock’, Tatiana Shmayluk and her finest men pull of a demolition job of outstanding proportions. Hearing the crowd roar will give you a yearning for live music like never before, and that’s before Tatiana’s insane vocals have kicked in to deliver a note perfect ferocious live show. This was supposed to be one of the first gigs of a global tour promoting the band’s October 2019 phenomenal release ‘Macro’. It’s heart-breaking to think of everything that has gone on and gone wrong since then. But here we are – looking to the future and learning from the past. And if ‘Alive In Melbourne’ is anything to go by, one of the lessons is to get tickets for Jinjer’s shows when they come back to see us. ‘Alive In Melbourne’ is (unlike 2020) unforgettable for all the right reasons. Play this one loud.
