Infrared – Self Released

Remember Brit Pop and those cheeky chappies Blur? Well imagine if Damon Albarn and co had decided to take a heavier path instead of turning into Gorrilaz. That’s what Novastatus kinda sound like.  They’re fun, they bounce along with endless enthusiasm, but damn they can play too. The song writing on this fine three track appetiser for hopefully much more to come is marvellously mature. It’s in the execution that you can hear the sound of jaws dropping. This young band from Peterborough sound like seasoned professionals already. They have a swagger about them that is confidence without ego.  They’ve started to make a name for themselves on the local scene too with live performances that have set tongues wagging, in a good way.  With a sound that is deep enough to satisfy metalheads and pop fans alike, along with everyone in between make a note of the name. Novastatus are well worth keeping an eye (and ear) on.
