Alt Blk Era
Rave Immortal
Earache
It’s January. You’re looking out of the window and the day long frost brings into your mind a longing for summer. The animals in the fields nearby, breath visible like wafts of fog no doubt are thinking much the same. Then you put on ‘Rave Immortal’ and suddenly you’re instantly warmer. You’re transported into a much more colourful and positive world. This is dance music for the rock generation, a mesh of Pendulum like synth with Korn punch and silky pop vocals. This is music that’ll have you flailing around your sitting room like a lunatic. It’s infectious. Those lyrics though! They tell of illness and pain, but of support and love too. Nyrobi and Chaya have voices that fit together perfectly in a sonic ballet that is driven by emotion. This is a record that is an extension of the band ethos of creating a safe space for alternative people, one that you see first hand at their shows. It is in a way a personal little bubble, somewhere the sun will always be full and negativity is banished. It’s a record you need to have in your life.
