Pain Is God – Metropolis Records

Gird your (pork) loins and enter, should you dare, the pen of sex and excess – the industrial, glitchy, electro, choppy riffy world that has bred PIG. ‘Pain Is God’ is a revelation that will send shivers down your spine (swine?). Listening to it feels like tentatively looking through the keyhole of a firmly locked door, behind which is an eye opening/popping/watering world. So whether it’s the dirty stomp of ‘Mobocracy’, the disco funk and demented brass of ‘Badland’, or the whole damn crazy cluster of 14 sty-lish lip biting tracks that take your fancy, the only things ham-pering your passage into PIG’s territory are your own inhibitions. If Covid’s associated monotony has got you curious for a little life affirming experience … If you’ve got an itch that needs (pork) scratching … Then this record will do you sow much good.*
