Hertz Horn
Sentinels EP – Self Released
The Sentinels EP comes across as a kind of garage rock compendium that has a slight industrial feel to it due mainly to the vocal style. The songs are well written and performed, the production in particular is crisp and clear. While there’s no obvious banger here to grab you, you have to admire the song writing and clear thought process that has gone into creating the songs. There are times when you could be forgiven for thinking this is a big budget release. There are troughs to go with those high points, a fuller sound generally would create a bit more oomph, and there’s a bit of a lack of identity. Hertz Horn clearly know how to create, right now they are at that stage where they have the outline of something that could be fantastic and a bit more colour they could be on to a winner.
