Imperium
Exodus Unknown
Heavy Metal Records
With track titles like ‘The Gun’, ‘Hangman’ and ‘The End, you pretty much know where you stand with these modern thrash maniacs. Except going by ‘Exodus Unknown’ you don’t actually stand. You’re knocked the fuck sideways. Imperium can pierce eardrums, hearts and souls with their debut album, dripping quality tunes, quick fire lyrics, depth, death growls and destruction. Yet they’re so sing-along-able. The chorus to opener ‘Hell and High Water’ is proper catchy. And the veins of ‘Exodus Unknown’ flow with this two-faced infectious vs incendiary vibe throughout its eight tracks. Imagine, if you will, the hard rock accessibility of Florence Black, the radio friendly paradox of Therapy? and the lawless polish of Metallica. Nope, this is not a fever dream. Nor is this a drill. If this is your first time we’re super happy to, ahem, pop your Imperium cherry. These London-based outlaws are coming atcha in chaotic, colossal and classy style. The Imperium boys know what they’re about. And with ‘Exodus Unknown’ you’re about to. Thoughts and prayers….
