Who On Earth
It Takes The Village
Self-Released
When you realise there’s more sand in the bottom of life’s hourglass than the top, time becomes an essence, a thing to be utilised to its full potential, and it seems that New Jerseys Who On Earth have had such a revelation. It means there’s no time to waste on fancy introductions, and the opening track, ‘Vigilance’, appears like a wrecking ball smashing through your speakers, and it’s all the more impactful for its sudden arrival. Aided by a bold, bombastic production, Who On Earth get up close and personal and remain there over the album’s duration. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Black Sabbath and Metallica, It Takes The Village swings in a similar fashion; this isn’t the kind of record played as background music, rather it demands your full attention. Songs such as ‘Shadows’ are guaranteed to initiate a response from the listener, and whenever encountered, will make you lose your cool (but in the nicest possible way, of course). Who On Earth’s sound is weighted towards the heavy, yet there’s plenty of variety on offer, which makes It Takes The Village an album that can be consumed in one sitting. Who On Earth? You’re about to find out!
