Imagine if a bunch of AD&D fans decided to pick up instruments and write about their imagined adventures. Oh and those gamers are also heavily influenced by classic Euro hard rock and have zero boundaries when it comes to flights of fancy. Sounds absurd doesn’t it, and you’d be partially correct. But Angus McSix have a few extra strings to their bow. They all clearly rolled high when they were dishing out the talent stats because although largely predictable this album is well written and carries with it real passion. While not taking itself too seriously it is jam packed with fists pumping moments. It’s a story telling metal musical escapade that engages at an easy level. For those times when all you want is to lose yourself in a good place this hits the spot perfectly.
