Review: The Belair Lip Bombs – Again

The Belair Lip Bombs

Again

Third Man Records

Sometimes we just crave music driven passionately by melody. The art of writing songs that sound uncomplicated can be – well complicated. You need to grasp the often frustratingly unreachable. If you want to listen to a band that have their hands firmly on the prize then you need to listen to The Belair Lip Bombs. On ‘Again’ we get a lightly rocky, indie leaning set of tunes that are beautifully crafted. The production is light and airy giving the album a retro vibe. It’s like the four piece are permanently infused with their native Australian summer sun, and boy do we need that heading into winter here in the northern hemisphere. The musicianship is understated with every note carrying purpose. This gives Maisie Everett the perfect platform to show off her warm vocals to a tee. This is the perfect album for those moments when you just want to chill.
