Confess
Destination Addiction
EVIN Productions
While western media is happy to run a commentary on the increasingly turbulent middle east there are some musicians who have and are living it. Members of Iranians Confess have been arrested and exiled ahead of jail sentences for speaking out through their art. The music’s brutality takes on an even darker demeanour with lyrics supporting the plight of women and highlighting other continuing political and social injustices. Every note here sears itself onto your brain with a wonderfully well balanced production. The writing is progressive with nods to past classic outfits such as Entombed and Obituary. It’s tough to succeed in metal at the best of times, to thrive this well after a run in with the revolutionary guard is nothing short of astounding. ‘Destination Addiction’ is a total blast from start to finish, moreover it has been made by people for whom the word brave truly applies.
