Blood of Christ EP

Metropolis Records

Get your glad rags on fellow Goths – we’re off to the disco. Please ignore the name of opening track ‘Blood of Christ’ for a second. Because despite its name sounding like something you heard every Sunday during your indoctrinated upbringing (bit of a trauma dump there -soz), the song itself is a massive synth fuelled, 80s electronic dance floor filler for those who like a steady groove to sway to. We’re talking a proper ‘Fade to Grey’ by Visage vibe here. Second track ‘You’re the One’ is similarly atmospheric. It’s a pressure cooker of spellbinding musical layers and deep dark vocals that aren’t monotone but certainly aren’t Mariah Carey in range. Which makes the whole song an intriguing blend of lyrics Peter Steele would approve of carried by crescendos of keys. Don’t fret friends – the lights aren’t going on just yet. There’s twelve remixes of these two tracks to enjoy too, so you can dance the night away to Clan of Xymox.
