…And Stuff – Self Released

What can be said about Psychostick’s new release? In short, it is 80minutes of absolute nonsense and It’s absolutely worth it. Opening with a Patrick Stewart impersonator, describing them as a ‘comedy metal music ensemble’. ‘Stewart’ features periodically and later gets into a fight with another Patrick Stewart impersonator, which gives you an idea of what to expect. As well as original songs there are metal parodies and covers including Monty Python, GhostBusters, and of course Star Trek. Although the album contains already released material they have refreshed a few tracks, releasing live versions and even adding piano to their finale aptly named ‘We Ran Out Of CD Space Again’. Putting aside the humour, the band is clearly talented. Vocalist Rawrb continuously shows range in his style and the band can go from heavy metal to soft and melodic at the drop of a hat. Some stand-out tracks include ‘Mi Queso’, ‘Sober on St Pattys Day’, and ‘Jameson Love Song’. Thrown in are comedy sketches plus 6minutes worth of outtakes, this release will not only have you tapping your feet but rolling with laughter. These are the kind of guys you want to invite to your party…or not, that really depends on you!
