Days Before The World Wept – Napalm Records

Kicking things off is their first single from the EP `Remnants in Time` which opens with stunningly wistful piano work by frontwoman Vicky Psarakis.  Guitarists Danny Marino and Pascal Jobin swiftly kick the metaphorical door down with their turbulent technical guitar work. Psarakis’ vocals go from guttural lows to heavenly and melodic which feels effortless and pairs beautifully together. `Immaculate Deception` starts with a brief spoken word and like a rollercoaster  this track takes you on brutal lows and energetic highs from start to finish. `Resurrection` is a re-work from previous release `Five` the sound and theme fit perfectly into this body of work. Their latest single, `Feast of The Living` starts with high impact guitars and drums combined with melodic notes full of attitude from Psarakis leading into her signature growls juxtaposed throughout. The title track introduces acoustic guitars soothing the listener before returning to their trademark full-throttle riffs and blast beats. The Agonist take no prisoners with this powerful culmination topping off five stand-alone tracks. Fans and new listeners alike will not be disappointed with this latest helping from the Canadian quintet.
