Mad Sin
Unbreakable – Century Media Records
When a band is described as psycho/punkabilly/rock n roll, your interest is piqued. It has to be! It should be! Trust us. Even if it’s not necessarily your thing. And let’s be honest here – has anyone really ever cited psycho/punkabilly/rock n roll as their favourite genre? So, friends, allow your curiosity to get the better of you, and give ‘Unbreakable’ a whirl. ‘Are You Ready?’ conjures images of a crazy cartoon chase you would have watched on a Saturday morning back in the day. Really! ‘Moon Over Berlin’ is like the theme tune to an old school Western Show. Pardon? NO! Devo has not been at the gin. Yet. You just have to hear it to believe it, you really do. Oh, and ‘House Of Fun’ is, indeed, Mad Sin’s take on the Madness classic. But behind all these melodies and musical methods are stories behind the songs. ‘Unbreakable’ is a jolly romp through a wide, varied and bonkers landscape, with a lot of heart and life experience at its core. It’s a little something that’s not a lot like anything else.
