From the bonkers to the beautiful, these Zebrahead boys have always had your back. They can bring the party, and, should they wish, bring the very same party to tears. Their punk-rock ragers have been going strong since the late nineties, but rather than churn out the same old stuff, these Southern California million-sellers consistently take what they do best – infectious choruses, high-energy tunes, and something-to-say lyrics and build on them. ‘O’ is an EP of hyperactive headbangers. The tracks are full-on, pacey and powerful, giving bratty punk solace (‘A Perfect Life is Such a Bore’), a little skin-crawling unease (‘I Know What U Did Last Summer’) and big, choppy ska (‘Smoke Signals From My Couch’). ‘I Don’t Know How to Put This (But I’m Kinda a Big Deal)’ is a bit darker, and it’s got a shady little edge. ‘O’ is the last of the band’s conceptual series of EPs, which have, without exception, kicked ass. And it’s a helluva record to seal the deal with.
