A Catalogue Of Madness And Melancholia
Self Released
Often we say that music comes from the heart and here this is true. But in the case of n0trixx it also comes very much from the mind, someone with Dissociative Identity Disorder. So what you get is a very personal display of something extremely private. And it is extremely moving. There’s a base of metal with other genres orbiting, in particular trap and synth. The latter become increasingly prominent as the album progresses. And yet, even the core metal is quirky, unique, making the whole even more memorable. Right in the mix is a sense of etherealness, the vocals turn on a sixpence from rage to soothing, from searching to focused. It’s almost impossible to not get sucked in to this other slightly unnerving world. Through an artistic medium notrixx is shedding light into a place it doesn’t often venture – into the human psyche. The result is eye opening.
