Feed The Monster – Onyria Records

In Feed The Monster Onyria have produced a hard-hitting, punchy album but you wouldn’t know by listening to the intro that proceeds opener ‘Denial’. It’s the calm before the storm and Onyria soon hit their stride as ‘Denial’ reveals itself a spiky, angular affair which crawls over your skin like a bad case of formication. With a guitar hook that’ll snare you instantly, it’s a catchy number that (like most of this album) beats a path to your memory bank, and it won’t be leaving any time soon. Onyria are devoid of any filler; there’s little flesh on the bone and they take all that’s great about raucous rock n’ roll, dispense with all the tired old cliches, and reassemble it for 2022, with each song becoming a three-minute hero. The 10 tracks that comprise this album come liberally infused with an inherent groove and subsequently Feed The Monster swings like a huge pendulum, yet the esoteric ‘Little Man’ nestles next to the powerful ‘Blind Nation’ and despite their different aesthetics, they make easy bedfellows. Tackling the “difficult second album” with apparent ease, Feed The Monster should propel Italy’s Onyria into the global consciousness.
