The shadows are set to descend on the Wirral as Dark Reign Festival officially returns for its third edition on Saturday, 2nd May 2026. Taking over the renowned Future Yard for an intense, all-day celebration of heavy music, this year’s festival promises to be the largest and most ambitious to date.
A Lineup of Unrelenting Power
Headlining this year’s “ritual” are London’s metalcore heavyweights Confessions of a
Traitor, bringing their signature “visual and auditory onslaught” and anthemic catharsis to
the stage. They are joined by a formidable roster of talent, including:
- Cage Fight: A high-octane crossover thrash force.
- The Five Hundred: Nottingham’s metalcore and progressive djent masters.
- Ogun: Liverpool-based thrash metal stalwarts.
- Eschalon: Tech-metalcore pioneers making their festival debut.
- Crepitation: Slam legends making their long-awaited first appearance on the Wirral.
- Godeater: Technical death metal specialists.
More Than Just Music
Beyond the stage, Dark Reign Festival 2026 transforms Future Yard into a hub for the
alternative community. This year’s event features:
- Alternative & Gothic Market: Showcasing a range of independent traders and
unique goods. - Pop-up Tattoo Studio: Offering on-site ink for fans looking to make their festival
memories permanent. - Official After-Party: The chaos continues late into the night at Molly’s
Chambers with local legend Chris Dempsey.
“Dark Reign is a true independent passion project, built from the ground up by a team who
love this scene,” the organisers shared via social media. “We’ve packed this year with even
more chaos, community, and heavy riffs”.
