Call Me Amour don’t mess about, so (for once!) nor shall we. Opening metalcore rager ‘Happy Hell’ gets down and dirty straight away with grating guitar hooks and fuzzy vocals which sing, shout and donate not one but two earworms to the cause. Techo introed ‘Bloom’ features Scott Kennedy, and goodness gracious you know about it when Bleed From Within’s screamer in chief gets involved. This track’s tempo dips, the keys pick up, and the chills that it spills courtesy of haunting little hooks feel and sound delicious. Mallory Knox front man Mikey Chapman lends his lungs to ‘Good Day’; a track which suits his sweet imploring vocal style down to the ground. It could actually be a Mallory track, to be fair. ‘Call Me Amour’ is a massive EP. It’s a real high class, high standard release from a band whose future we’re gonna be following closely.
