Gift

Noisolution

So scuzzy and fuzzy it’ll make yer head, erm, buzzy, ‘Gift’ is a proper DIY-sounding punk explosion. That’s DIY-sounding as in this trio of Berlin-based kick-ass rock chicks have not only left the drill running, the wardrobes they’ve just assembled are collapsing – contents and all. Yer girl’s getting Idles and Veruca Salt hints here, but with this level of feelings and ferocity, it’s every listener for themselves in the find the influences stakes. Opener ‘Rat Race’ gets stuck straight in, with barely a beat before scratchy snarled vocals drop. ‘Crown of Creation’ and ‘Nothing Lasts’ sound like soft little kittens in this (understandably) p***ed off at the world feral litter of songs. With this in mind, keep a listen out for the lyrics; this is underground music with opinions that should be written on billboards overground. ‘Gift’ is grunge. It’s rage. It’s social commentary. It’s noise. It’s great.
