Review: Delilah Bon – Evil, Hate Filled Female

Delilah Bon

Evil, Hate Filled Female

Self-Released

There’s a reason why brat queen Delilah Bon has so many young female fans, they recognise themselves in her words, they identify with her lyrics and yes, they want the same change that she does. While there are other artists singing from the same book no one does it quite like Delilah Bon. Her songs are inventive and well written. Her delivery is now honed to perfection. ‘Evil, Hate Filled Female’ shows a massive upping of her game in every department. ‘Finally See Me’ prowls like a big cat with sublime vocal control. ‘Epstein’ is dark and moving speaking truths about society that need saying. Everything is skilfully crafted with huge attention to those little details that make the difference between a good record and a great one. The music flows, making it a fun live prospect and the venom in the vox is palpable. The tongue twisting in cheek moments lift the mood in just the right places which makes you listen even more. It is precisely the fact that there’s as much levity as gravity that makes the message strike home with full force. This is probably the most important set of songs you’ll hear all year.
