Review: Brave Liaison – Silence In The Chain EP

Brave Liaison
Silence In The Chain EP

Fort Records

Aaaahhhh Cambridge. Home to high class academia and architecture, and highly
unpredictable EFL football (if you know, you’d probably rather not know). And to Brave
Liaison. Four hard rockin’ lads armed with vocals, riffs and rhythms which are powerful and
sleek. Across this record’s five tracks there’s a hint of fellow local band Mallory Knox, and…
dare we say it… Enter Shikari less the electronic elements?… Inspired by the utter disparity
in our society, ‘No Two Sides The Same’ is about the constant struggle for some to make
ends meet, while others get wealthier and have it so much easier, and sees vocalist Tom
Lumley shift momentarily into growly gear. His punchy vox gives the entire EP an edge,
making it sound dangerous enough to keep your enemies at bay. On the other hand, ‘9
Seconds’ is such a sweet song – full of positivity and encouragement. ‘Silence In The Chain’
is good, meaningful rock music, and we’re happy to put money on it sounding outstanding
live.
