Bond Over Blood – Self Released

Bond Over Blood is a deeply emotive EP drawn from personal experiences where it feels like a creative purge of the pain that has came from within. The trio from London offer up a healthy mix of emo, pop and hardcore punk which is distributed perfectly throughout. It reflects the emotions being portrayed within each song. ‘Fall Short’ is a heart felt melody about the frustrations of feeling that you are not enough. The second half is a lot heavier which was unexpected where the perfectly placed. ‘BITCFIT’ kicks the doors off their hinges and continues on the path of a more hardcore sound. The vocals get more screamo in style and just shows these guys are not one trick ponies. ‘Ghost’, about a love that is no more, is melodic and you get to hear more of lead vocalist Logan Samuels capabilities. ‘No Father’ is without a doubt the stand out track on this EP. The lyrics are deep and deal with quite a difficult subject matter of an abusive Father and the effects it has had on the family. Lyrics such as ‘Now you’re just an old pig and you’re ready for slaughter, How does it feel to know you’re hated by all four of your daughters?’ is pretty powerful. The song Itself is incredibly catchy and the vocals and instrumentals are hard hitting. It’s gutting that there are only four tracks as we have been left wanting to hear much more! The band is fairly new and up and coming and we can’t wait to see them playing at one of the shows they have lined up over the year.
