Sometimes, only melodic death metal will do. What do we want? Lead singers shredding their throats for our pleasure. When do we want it? Now! Indeed, ‘Negative’ is real fist-slamming through walls stuff. It’s a punch in the stomach. A claw clasping around your cranium. ‘Negative’ rocks, rolls, thrashes, pulverises and, erm has a lesser-spotted fade-out ending on ‘Down That Line’. How cool is that? Clearly followers of the ‘go hard or go home’ philosophy, Act Of Denial do themselves proud by putting the power through track after track after track. ‘Negative’ is classic death metal with thunderous riffs and rhythms unique to Act Of Denial. And if the past two years have taught us anything, it’s that negative is no bad thing. And no mean feat…
