Dee Snider
Leave A Scar – Napalm Records
Must not begin review with ‘Twister Sister legend’. Must not begin review with ‘Twisted Sister legend’. Must not – oh bugger. So, when such an icon of metal releases a new record in such sh*t times, it’s always going to shine pretty brightly. And even if we weren’t (still) in the grips of a global pandemic, ‘Leave A Scar’ would be ridiculously welcome. Because, frankly, it kicks ass in a way that only Dee Snider can. Rockin’, retro; a cracking record. ‘Time To Choose’ is a particular highlight, especially as it contains guest vocals from Cannibal Corpse’s George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher. All tracks are fast moving metal monsters which, tbh, you can probably hear in your head without listening to a single note. And which pleasingly means Snider has stayed close to his musical heritage. ‘Leave A Scar’ gives fans what they want. And everybody – everybody – likes to get what they want.
