Introducing…The Festival Tapes 2026

After more than two decades of publishing Devolution, we realised our coverage of the UK’s metal, punk, and rock festival scene deserved a dedicated home within our own magazine family.

Each summer, we capture countless moments, yet much of it gets lost in the fast-moving noise of the online world, quickly disappearing into the ether after we upload our coverage to our website.

So we created The Festival Tapes: a digital edition that preserves and celebrates the UK alternative summer festival circuit in one place in a magazine format. It’s the first of our loud and proud annual showcase of the people who keep this festival world alive: the bands, artists, promoters, PR teams, traders, photographers, journalists and the music fans who make the scene what it is.

This first edition gives them the spotlight that they deserve, away from the churn of fast media. We’re proud to share it with you, and if you joined us at any of these festivals, we hope it brings back fond moments and memories of your time there.
