Circle 60
Gods Of Dimension
Octophonic Records
Featuring four musicians with long and storied histories, Circle 60 were drawn together by a love of technology, retro sci-fi and punk melodies. Rolling these disparate influences into a cohesive whole, the result is a sound beamed to our present from as if from a distant future. Like a bad batch of brown acid, it’s a dark brand of psychedelia in which Circle 60 deal and their sophomore album, Gods Of Dimension, serves up thirteen doses of the hard stuff. The band’s penchant for discordance means sounds fuse in a seemingly random manner, and that might render them chaotic to new listeners, yet as soon as your ears tune into their unique wavelength, songs such as ‘Hank Spanking Monkey Funk’ make perfect sense. With turbo boost propulsion Circle 60 are catapulted forwards on a mission to map out new musical territory, but they haven’t completely disowned their past. By placing punk’s “Year Zero” and sixties Nuggets in a particle collider Circle 60 have created an explosion of nuclear proportions and formulated a sound all their very own. As such, Gods Of Dimension serves up music from an age yet to come.
