News: Brocarde releases video for new single ‘Last Supper’

A new horror story is served, a dinner party for those with an appetite for symphonic metal and blood-curdling visuals. The lyrics take a mighty bite out of popular culture, and are served up with a side of sass and a few secret ingredients! This track has been marinated slowly, and delivers a simmering banquet that tickles all the senses. ‘Last Supper’ was written by Brocarde and produced by Chris Collier (Whitesnake, Mick Mars, Korn). Brocarde once again immerses the listener into a macabre wonderland, where both fairytales and nightmares collide. Explosive music, hides the chilling vulnerability that reveals itself from behind an otherwise powerful and energy ridden vocal.

In her latest instalment, Brocarde analyses pop culture and merges biblical themes with hard hitting, real life questions. A tenacious grit and determination force you to take a bite out of this infectious anthem. The visually creative music video features Brocarde being lured to her death and hung by an army of sinister creatures in pig masks, a concept that leaves a thought-provoking aftertaste as she turns the tables on the human food chain, leaving you contemplating veganism as you try to escape the fear of the spit roast.

Last Supper doesn’t just ask you to question your last meal, but everything you accept as “normal”. This is classic Brocarde: thought-provoking but with space left open to our own imagination and interpretation. In a world where social media and self-image dominates, what will you value when the chips are down, and you’re staring down mortality. “When I wrote ‘Last Supper’, I had pages and pages of concepts and a vivid agenda for the song. It marked an important turning point in my life where I was questioning everything about who I was, and everything about the world surrounding me. Something was yearning inside me, forcing me to take stock of what is important, and that notion still haunts me today”.

“Sometimes it seems impossible to escape popular culture, celebrity culture and social media. I used to resent that world greatly, and rebel heavily against it. With maturity, I can look at it with reflection, and appreciate it for what it is. I understand that it can magnify your voice as an artist. It goes back to the observation that I made in my last single ‘Identity Theft’: we’re all part of the herd. There’s no superiority or ‘voice from above’ in my observations and lyrics, these are relatable topics; we are all in this life together.” “‘Last Supper’ asks the listener to reflect on and question what actually matters. In your final hours on earth, what would be important? Spending time with loved ones or leaving a lasting selfie? It’s food for thought, every pun intended!”
