Delilah Bon
Princeless Princess
Self released
Punk rapper Delilah Bon is far from a loose cannon. She’s a focussed ball of energy unafraid of tackling misogyny head on. Here she uses her lyrical prowess to shred the notion that women still need the ‘Prince Charmings’ of past fairy tales. Here her narrative is clear – no more will women be forced into playing roles for male fantasies. Once again Bon’s now legendary acerbic humour shines through, and with the music having that familiar punch it’s a combination that is irresistible. That’s what draws you in, that’s what makes this artist so good, first and foremost the music delivers. Once again Bon has raised her own personal bar to new dizzying heights. Meanwhile down in the basements you can almost hear the incels and keyboard warrior’s hands hammering out their fury. Hopefully thanks to people like Delilah Bon one day soon they will be gone.
