Death Goals
Survival Is An Act Of Defiance
(Self-Released)
The summer festival class of 2023 continues to progress exactly as we hoped. Upcoming releases from the likes of Witch Fever and now Death Goals show different sides of the true progression of the sonic movement around inclusive, radical punk and hardcore.
On this release, Death Goals collaborate with fellow Queercore terror squad HIRS Collective on the incendiary lead single Tchotchke and their feral aggression shows considerable heft and confident broad strokes in its confrontational direct approach. As mentioned previously, this is exactly where we hoped they’d go sonically.
Elsewhere, the opening track Kill With Kindness opens with kitschy Casio drums and erupts into discordant rage, and Even A Worm Can Turn is a righteous call to arms for the LGBTQ community in its quick-fire hyper blast. Parting blow, Survival Is An Act Of Defiance is sure to be a riot starter live, and I can already see Harry Bailey in the crowd screaming his lungs out. Death Goals have seriously delivered on the promise, myself and a packed-out tent at ArcTanGent two years ago, and the results are genuinely goose-bump-inducing.
