Tomorrow We Escape
999 Deathkult/Last Gang
Imagine if music genres were a physical construct, say roads, weaving in and around each other letting you navigate and choose your journey. Well listening to ‘Tomorrow We Escape’ is a bit like one of those speeded up videos where you’re in a car taking in hundreds of miles in a little over half an hour. On the way you get to hear punk, EBM, hip hop, metal (various), pop, industrial and all the rainbow in between. It pounds, pummels, nudges and nurdles you and your senses in every way imaginable. The really impressive bit is that somehow this amazing work flows from one song to another in a very natural way. There are guests too with ‘Incline’ featuring Nova Twins, Pink Siifu and Yung Skrrt being a particular highlight. Music is a universal language that should unify, here it unifies itself. What a talent Ho99o9 are for having such vision. Genres just got consigned to history.
