There’s so much crossover music around these days that thankfully genre divides are almost invisible. The important thing is that the music still makes sense, that it captures hearts and minds, that it isn’t a mash up simply because that’s the latest trend. ‘Agent Of Chaos’ sports the kind of songs you can hold up to show how to do it right. The blend of dark wave and metal is ying and yang like, the writing superior to such an extent that Neo Cryptid is for now one of the shiniest almost undiscovered gems in alternative music. The vocals flow in and out of clean to suit the mood beautifully. Imagine Crossfaith collaborating with 3Teeth but heavier and you get the picture. This EP is a great example of why you need to check out the independent artists – because sometimes you strike gold.
