Voice Of The Beehive

Honey Lingers (remastered)

London Records

Ostensibly a pop band Voice Of The Beehive’s quirky nature and willingness to push lyrical boundaries made them an often awkward fit in the mainstream of the day. They did however find favour with many more alternative leaning music fans. This re-issue of their second album originally released in 1991 comes at a time when alternative music is at its most embracing, so they’ve got the timing spot on. While the LP is a straight up re-issue the CD version comes as a two disc set featuring fresh versions and live performances. The Belland sisters have certainly stood the test of time well as have the songs. You can hear just why this was a top 20 record first time around with trademark harmonies featuring strongly. For those of you that missed out first time around this is an ideal opportunity to grab a slice of music history.
