Grief Ritual

Church Road
We all know that any release on Church Road is a cause for celebration but this one was especially anticipated. Grief Ritual have been one of the hardest working bands on the UK scene for a good while now and have honed their craft with many high profile supports. This their debut for Church Road reflects this loudly. From the opening Spiral it’s clear that this is the album you should listen to next if you loved Heriot’s album last year. Heavy as ton of bricks, everything here is geared for total annihilation. Hardcore metal never sounded so nasty, which is on the surface at odds with their all inclusive theme but on tracks like Gnaw you realize these are war cries for the true individuals and those who have simply had enough. Harry Nott from label mates Burner joins on Bile to cement the fact that UK heavy music and Church Road in particular is unstoppable right now. Straight up pitkillers like Fault and the closing Putrefy point towards an amazing live set should you see them at the festivals this summer and the likes of Calcify simply rearrange your guts with their unrelenting power. Simply put if you’re a lover of heavy heavy music, you need to get on this immediately!
