Finnish hard rocker JJ Pinestone (and his band) have all the elements needed to make a wave on the scene. Keeping the essence of what the fans of this genre hold at the core but also offering up something fresh for them to sink their teeth into. The quartet have already been making waves on their home turf and with their new release are ready to take it beyond. Opening with ‘Break The Chain’ a high energy track has all the fixtures of those glam bands we loved while maintaining modern elements. It opens with laughter and then rips into JJs somewhat raspy vocals with the guitars framing the song nicely. ‘On My Own’ takes it down a notch and is a lot more melodic with a softer vox from JJ. It’s the perfect juxtaposition to show they have more strings to their bow. Again the guitars help light up the song. ‘Kill Shot’ is so incredibly catchy and is a real standout. The drums cement that Hard Rock vibe. The guitars take center stage on this song with added effects and solos. JJs vocals and the lyrics draw you in. ‘Fools Anthem’ took us by surprise with some rap elements reminiscent of Kid Rock. JJ Pinestone has an energy that is infectious. This is an act that’s scratches an itch for those who want to hear more glam rock.
