Milk – Royale Stag Records

You’ve got to have your wits about you at all times these days. There’s always some sort of trickery about. It’s best to keep on your toes.  And we all know this, don’t we? So as such, it’s fair to say we’re a pretty savvy bunch. Well, you folks are. Devo let her guard down. ‘This is a nice album,’ she thinks, sitting happily on her sofa with a nice hot drink. ‘These are nice mellow songs. Steady beats, cool guitars. Super voice. Pretty chilled record. Let’s have a look at my emails to learn more about Ewan MacFarlane. Ah, here we are – Ewan MacFarlane. HE WAS THE FRONTMAN OF APOLLO 440!!!!!’ Devo was not prepared for this! People are going mad for MacFarlane. He’s getting rave reviews left, right and centre. He’s getting one here as well. ‘Milk’ is a lovely record. It’s got a country groove (‘How To Build An Empire’). It’s got dreamy indie drawls of choruses (‘Milk’, ‘Won’t Stop Burnin’). It’s laid back and easy in the nicest of ways. ‘Milk’ is a balm for the soul.
