How to create a Rocky Horror Magenta look:
Magentas look is quite theatrical so you want to go 1 or 2 shades lighter than how you normally go! Unless you are as pale as me so just stick to your regular foundation!
Using:
Pale foundation: | Ve cosmetics Witchcraft liquid foundation 01 |
Correctors/concealers: | Ve cosmetics no.8 green corrector |
Setting powder: | Ben Nye Neutral Setting powder |
Eyeshadow primer: | Ve Cosmetics eyeshadow powder |
Aubergine Eyeshadow: | Ve cosmetic Recently deceased palette- Strange |
Black Eyeshadow and highlighter: | Ve cosmetics Grimoire Palette |
Contour shades/blush: | Nyx Cosmetics Contour palette |
Two sets of eyelashes: | Ve cosmetics wish upon a lash booklet |
Red Lip pencil: | Barry M Red pencil liner |
Red lipstick: | Ve Cosmetics Kiss me deadly liquid lipstick |
Black pencil and liquid liner: | Nyx cosmetics liners |
- I had a number of spots so I used a green concealer to counteract the red tones! Dot on, blend and add a little powder.
- Apply an even layer of foundation all over with a beauty blender
- Set it with a neutral powder using a big powder brush
TIP: The eyes are quite dark so you can either do this before or after your foundation!
- Pat down a light layer of eyeshadow primer all over your eye. If you feel you need to, set that with the same powder used previously.
- Apply an aubergine or a more purple toned eye shadow colour to the lid. Aim for a more triangle or oval shape.
- Bring it underneath and blend out following the shape of the eye
- Pat on black eyeshadow and blend out
- Apply highlighter to your brow bone
- As Magenta has pretty natural brows, try and fill in your regular brows with a powder or very lightly with a pencil (I don’t have eyebrows so just did a rough light brown)
- Draw black pencil liner on your water line
- Following the shape of your eye, apply black liquid liner around the whole eye.
- Apply false lashes to top and bottom lash lines. If you have a larger set, use these for the underneath of your eyes
TIP: After you put the eyelash glue onto your false lashes, give it a few moments and then tap it so it goes all tacky. If you put it on straight away it’ll slip off so the tackiness helps it stick
Tip: If you can still see you glue once its dried, colour it in with a little black liquid liner
- Contour your cheek bones and jaw line with a neutral colour or more brown tones.
- Add highlighter to your cheek bones
- Draw the shape you want with the red pencil
- Blend down into your lip
- Fill in with the red lipstick!
